LOCATION
Boat Basin is situated on the West Coast of Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada, within Clayoquot Sound, 55 kilometres (33 miles) northwest of the village of Tofino, and 35 kilometres (22 miles) south-southwest of Gold River. The Temperate Rainforest Field Study Centre and Cougar Annie's Garden are accessible by boat or float plane from Tofino or by float plane from Gold River.

Tofino is serviced by scheduled air service from Vancouver and Seattle, or by road across Vancouver Island.

Gold River is serviced by the Island Highway, which runs from Victoria, through Campbell River to Gold River. The driving time from Victoria to Gold River is approximately 3 1/2 hours.
